SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT USA TRIATHLON:  The one-day permit fee is $10 for 2008 and the price of an annual membership is $39.

LICENSING/INSURANCE/RULES: The Breezy Point Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and all USAT rules will be followed and strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of the athlete to be familiar with those rules. No drafting is allowed and will be monitored by roving draft marshals. Helmets must be ANSI/Snell or approved (those manufactured before March 10, 1999) or Comsumer Product Safety Commission apporved (those manufactured after 3/10/1999) and worn AT ALL TIMES while on the bike. Wet suits, aerobars and disk wheels are permitted as per the USA Triathlon rulebook. The complete rulebook can be accessed at www.usatriathlon.org. Since the race is USA Triathlon sanctioned, non-USAT members are required to purchase a one-day event license. This is achieved by including an additional $10 with your entry fee and filling out a USA Triathlon one-day permit form at Packet Pick-up.

USA TRIATHLON HAS INSTITUTED A NEW POLICY WITH REGARD TO ANNUAL MEMBERS WHO DO NOT BRING THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD TO PACKET PICK-UP.  YOU WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED TO FILL OUT A "DUPLICATE" LICENSE FORM.  YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE $10 ONE-DAY PERMIT FEE OR PURCHASE AND ADDITION YEAR ON YOUR ANNUAL LICENSE FOR $39.  THEREFORE, BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD!!!  IF YOU PURCHASE AN ANNUAL LICENSE THROUGH USA TRIATHLON AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD BEFORE PACKET PICK-UP, PLEASE BRING PROOF OF PURCHASE ALONG WITH YOU.  IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD, CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE USAT WEBSITE TO PRINT A TEMPORARY CARD.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE...  If you need to purchase a one-day permit at packet pick-up because you either forgot to bring your card or your license is expired, you can only pay that fee with either cash or a check.  Credit cards MAY ONLY BE USED FOR ANNUAL LICENSES.

AGE RESTRICTIONS: No one under the age of 13 may participate either as an individual or as part of a relay in this event. Participation in the Open Division is restricted to individuals who are at least 15 years of age. Individuals under 15 years of age entering the Open Division will automatically be placed in the Age Group Division.

The listed age restrictions are our written, established policy.  Since we assume that most people will read, understand and follow the policy, we will not consider requests to overlook the policy on a case by case basis.  Please do not call or e-mail with requests for special consideration.
