Clean-Up Staff

DUTIES:
  • Take apart and stow bike rack materials
  • Pick up cones used in the vacinity of the transition area
  • Pick up lost-and-found items
  • Roll up sand fencing from the transition area
  • Load sandbags and stanchions on trucks for removal
  • Clean up trash and debris from the transition area
  • Volunteers should not mind getting a little dirty and should be able to lift at least 25 lbs
Volunteers should arrive approximately 30 minutes before the time listed above. Upon arrival, you will check in at the volunteer tent and receive your T-shirt. We will have plenty of transition area pros on hand to tell you what to do. You are then invited to join us at Breezy Point Park for the post-race party and festivities. Please be advised that travel on the base may be difficult after approximately 8:30 AM as athletes will be on the course by then. You may want to consider coming out before that time. We can find something for you to do!
PLEASE NOTE:   All volunteers must be registered with the race in order to access Naval Station Norfolk on race day. We will mail gate passes to you approximately 1-2 weeks before the event. Unless you have DoD decals on your vehicle, you will be required to have one of our gate passes to get on base. Therefore, to allow gate passes to reach you by mail in time, please register before May 20th.
