Swim Course

DUTIES:
  • Assist swimmers in getting into and out of the water
  • Help direct the swimmers into the transition area at the conclusion of the swim
  • Help maintain safety in the vacinity of the swim start and finish areas
  • Help ensure that all swimmers are wearing the appropriate swim cap
  • Help pass out timing chips before athletes begin the even
Volunteers should arrive approximately 30 minutes before the time listed above. Upon arrival, you will check in at the volunteer tent and receive your T-shirt. You can also grab a light snack and some coffee before you begin your duties. After the race is over, you are invited to join us at Breezy Point Park for the post-race party and festivities.
PLEASE NOTE:   All volunteers must be registered with the race in order to access Naval Station Norfolk on race day. We will mail gate passes to you approximately 1-2 weeks before the event. Unless you have DoD decals on your vehicle, you will be required to have one of our gate passes to get on base. Therefore, to allow gate passes to reach you by mail in time, please register before May 20th.
