DUTIES:
  • Pass out timing chips to athletes if requested
  • Direct athletes over the timing mats at one of 5 time points
  • Help collect timing chips from athletes as they finish the race
  • Keep athletes from wandering near the mats once the race has started
  • Help with any data collection needed to process times and results
Volunteers should arrive approximately 30 minutes before the time listed above. Upon arrival, you will check in at the volunteer tent and receive your T-shirt. You can also grab a light snack and some coffee while you wait for instructions. Following the race, you are invited to join us at Breezy Point Park for the post-race party and festivities.
PLEASE NOTE:   All volunteers must be registered with the race in order to access Naval Station Norfolk on race day. We will mail gate passes to you approximately 1-2 weeks before the event. Unless you have DoD decals on your vehicle, you will be required to have one of our gate passes to get on base. Therefore, to allow gate passes to reach you by mail in time, please register before May 20th.
